What the mix does
- Lines upVocal and beat
Finds where the vocal sits against the beat’s grid and moves it into time.
- CleansThe vocal
Takes out hum, noise and plosives, tames harsh S sounds and clears the lows with a high-pass.
- LevelsVocal over beat
Evens out the phrases and sets the vocal a few dB over the beat, the way a vocal sits in your style, and tells you the number.
- Makes roomIn the beat
Dips the beat a little where the voice lives, so every word is clear without turning the vocal up.
- Adds spaceTone, reverb, delay
A touch of presence and air, a reverb and a delay in time with the song, set by the style of the beat.
- MastersSame as OBRA Mastering
Then the mix goes through the mastering: three masters, measured in integrated LUFS (ITU-R BS.1770-4) and true-peak safe.
Five knobs let you take over: vocal level, space, brightness, de-ess and room in the beat. Every move is written down with its number and its reason.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. Drop your beat and your vocal into the page, listen and download. It works in any modern browser, on desktop and mobile.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The whole engine runs in your browser, so your beat and your vocal never leave your device and nothing is stored on our side.
How many tracks can I mix?
Today a beat and a vocal, with backing vocals if you have them. Multitrack mixing, with a fader on every track, is coming soon: leave your email on this page and we will tell you first.
Can I mix a vocal recorded on my phone?
Yes. We line it up with the beat, clean the noise and hum, level it and give it space, so a phone recording sits in the song.
Is the mix mastered too?
Yes. The mix goes straight into OBRA Mastering: three masters (Natural, OBRA and Loud), measured in integrated LUFS, true-peak safe and ready for Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
What is the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing balances the tracks of one song: the vocal over the beat, tone, space. Mastering works on the finished mix: overall tone, glue, stereo width and loudness. Here you do both in one place, and our guide on mixing vs mastering explains each step.
Does it mix by itself, and can I change it?
It mixes automatically, like an engineer: it measures the beat and the vocal and decides the timing, the clean-up, the level, the room and the space. Every move is written down with its number and its reason, and five knobs let you take over: vocal level, space, brightness, de-ess and room in the beat.
Which files can I use?
WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A and the sound of MP4 or MOV videos, mono or stereo, up to 20 minutes each. You download the mix as a WAV or a FLAC.
Can I release the mixed track commercially?
Yes. You keep every right you hold in your music. OBRA claims nothing and adds nothing to the file.
