Waeys (Casper van Wijngaarden) is an Amsterdam-based drum & bass producer and one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the Netherlands' bass scene. Since arriving in 2019 he has become a cornerstone of Critical Music's roster, also releasing on Overview, Shogun Audio, Delta9 and DIVIDID. He combines a deft technical touch with a focus on moving the dancefloor, blending rolling liquid funk, jungle breaks and harder neurofunk textures. In 2020 he won the coveted 'Best Newcomer' award at the D&BA Awards on the back of heavyweight tracks like 'Framed' with Klinical. His 2023 debut LP 'Repetition' showcased his full range, and he remains relentlessly prolific — dropping a steady stream of EPs and collaborations through 2025 and 2026 with the likes of Kasra, VISLA, QZB and Klinical.
