Bio

Shubostar is a South Korean producer and DJ, born in Seoul and now based in Berlin after years spent in Mexico City and Bangkok. She is the architect of 'cosmic disco' — a sound she describes as 'light and dark, glitter and gravity, psychedelia without the psychedelics' — built on an Italo-disco foundation laced with hypnotic, interstellar techno. In 2018 she founded the independent label uju Records together with Korean painter Daryung Kim, a platform for her own singles and kindred underground artists. Her catalogue includes interstellar productions such as 'Estacion Espacial', 'Enter The Void' and 'Stardance', and her live sets have been described as 'half spaceship launch, half cult ceremony'. She has performed across Berlin, Mexico City, London, Paris, Seoul and New York, and her work has been featured by Mixmag, DJ Mag and Schon! Magazine. Self-described as 'the girl from outer space', she pairs a minimalist DIY approach with a richly developed interstellar visual world.
