Bio

Retromigration is a producer and DJ, German-born (Heidelberg) and Amsterdam-based, with Nigerian and Ghanaian roots. He began musical training at age seven on bass and in classical music before moving through jazz, hip-hop and electronic genres — a journey that shows in his refreshing, raw sound, where deep, immersive beats draw on hip-hop, jazz, soul and funk while looking to the future and paying tribute to the past. Over the last few years he has released on a string of respected underground labels including Wolf Music, Rhythm Section, Heist Recordings, Love on the Rocks, Healthy Scratch and Handy Records. His music has earned strong support from BBC Radio 1, NTS Radio, Worldwide FM, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Phonica, Ransom Note and 5 Magazine, and he has performed at major stages and clubs including Glastonbury, Dekmantel, Fabric and Lowlands. His 2026 run includes the 'Choices Vol. 1' EP and the 'Can't Go' single alongside a steady stream of remixes.
