Bio

Labit is the project of Stephen Ordoñez, a Los Angeles-based Filipino-American multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer. Born in Mountain View, California and raised in San Diego from the age of eight, he grew up navigating questions of identity and assimilation that now anchor his songwriting. He self-produces his catalog, layering honeyed vocals over warm analog textures and diaristic lyrics that move between indie pop, soul and alternative R&B. His debut album 'SOL' (2025), an 18-track coming-of-age statement, is named after his grandmother Solita ('Grandma Sol') and turns kitchen-table wisdom and family memory into cinematic, lived-in storytelling. Lead singles 'MANGOES AND RICE' and 'PARALLEL' foreground his Filipino heritage, family and community. Across four albums and a steady stream of singles he has built a deep, engaged catalog and recently ranked among the top indie artists worldwide.
