Exile (Aleksander Manfredi) is a Los Angeles hip-hop producer who earned widespread recognition through his 2007 collaboration with rapper Blu, 'Below the Heavens', a record now regarded as an underground classic. He began his career in the mid-'90s with the duo Emanon (alongside Aloe Blacc), and his sample-based production has drawn comparisons to J Dilla, Pete Rock and DJ Shadow. Over the years he has produced for Jurassic 5, Mobb Deep, Kardinal Offishall, Fashawn and many others, and runs the Dirty Science label out of LA. Still highly prolific, he released the album 'Time Heals Everything' in April 2026, continuing a deep catalog of solo and collaborative projects. His instrumental, soul-sampling beat work remains a touchstone for the modern boom-bap and jazz-rap scenes.
