Evil Needle

Bio

Evil Needle is a Berlin-born, France-based DJ and beatmaker (real name Florian) who came up between Strasbourg and Paris and has been spinning records since the early 2000s. A prolific producer for over a decade, he crafts savvy, finely-chiselled instrumental hip-hop deeply rooted in '90s boom-bap and jazz, oscillating between luminous, crystal-clear soundscapes and grittier, gut-driven beats. His catalog spans acclaimed albums such as Souvenirs, Abyssal, Travelers, L'Emprise, Odyssey and 2025's The Groove Chronicles, with a constant stream of singles and EPs. A pillar of the international lo-fi and jazz-beats scene (associated with Chillhop), he regularly collaborates with fellow producers and vocalists including Venuz Beats, Misha, BeMyFiasco and Justin Wyatt. His most recent single, Lunar Funk, dropped in April 2026, and he has performed and spoken at events like Amsterdam Dance Event. Evil Needle releases largely independently across Bandcamp, SoundCloud and streaming, making him a textbook mid-tier producer who would benefit from public, live stream receipts.
