Swarvy
Swarvy is the project of Mark (Martin) Sweeney, a beatmaker, producer and multi-instrumentalist born just outside Philadelphia and now based in East Los Angeles, where he works out of a garage-turned-studio shared with longtime collaborator Mndsgn. His music blends abstract hip-hop, jazz, soul and Low End-inspired electronic production, marked by a methodical, J Dilla-indebted approach and live instrumentation on bass, keys, drums and guitar. Across more than a dozen records he has collaborated with Pink Siifu, lojii, Nappy Nina, Zeroh, Jeremiah Jae and Thelonious Martin, releasing on labels such as LEAVING Records, Fresh Selects and Paxico. Bandcamp named him an Artist of the Week, highlighting his multifaceted fusion of hip-hop, jazz and soul. He is also one half of TOKAYO and one quarter of BurntPink, and emphasizes in-person collaboration and live musicianship over laptop production. He remains highly active, with new singles dropping in May 2026.
