Loraine James is a London-based electronic producer and composer signed to the influential Hyperdub label. She learned piano as a teenager and, after frequenting emo, pop and math-rock shows, taught herself electronic production on a MIDI keyboard and a laptop in her home studio. Her singular sound — subtly hybridizing R&B, drill, pop and IDM — first emerged on 2017's 'Detail' and broke through with the critically acclaimed 'For You and I' (2019). She has since built a prolific, restless catalogue including 'Reflection' (2021), 'Building Something Beautiful For Me' (2022), 'Gentle Confrontation' (2023) and her latest album 'Detached From The Rest Of You' (May 2026).
