Blue Lab Beats
Blue Lab Beats are a London-based production duo made up of NK-OK (Namali Kwaten) and Mr DM (David Mrakpor). They met at North London's Weekend Arts College and honed their craft at Tomorrow's Warriors, the jazz programme that nurtures young UK talent. Starting out as bedroom producers remixing A-listers like Dua Lipa and Rag'n'Bone Man, they built a sound that fuses jazz, hip-hop, Afrobeats, soul and electronica. With over 85 million streams to date, they won the Jazz FM Innovation Award in 2022 and have earned multiple MOBO nominations. In 2023 they won a GRAMMY for their production on Angelique Kidjo's 'Fired Up' from Mother Nature, which took Best Global Music Album. Their live shows expand the duo with drums, bass, trumpet, saxophone and vocals, playing venues from the Royal Festival Hall to Milan's Jazz Festival. Their latest album, 'The Blue Lab Beats Show', arrived in May 2026.
