Bearcubs is the project of British producer and multi-instrumentalist Jack Ritchie, who crafts diaristic electronica blending crisp breakbeats, celestial synths and introspective vocals. Raised in the UK and now based in Berlin, he grew up playing piano, drums and guitar in bands spanning classical, metal and hip hop before producing chillwave-leaning tracks on SoundCloud during the golden age of bedroom producers. His emotive electronica and lo-fi house blends made him a favourite of BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac and Monki, and his 2017 EP Underwaterfall drew comparisons to James Blake and Jamie xx. In 2018 he relocated from London to Berlin, released his debut album Ultraviolet and scored his first film. He has since put out the albums Early Hours (2020), Weather Report (2022) and Breathin' (2025), and keeps releasing new singles through 2026. With 30+ releases and roughly 185K Spotify monthly listeners, Bearcubs is a prolific independent producer with a deep, active catalogue.
