Bio

BAKEY is a London-born, Bristol-based DJ and producer at the sharp end of UK bass — UK garage, breakbeat, bassline, jungle and funky low-end built for sound systems. Drawing cues from El-B, Breakage, Zed Bias and Calibre, he cut his teeth on Leeds dancefloors (SUBDUB, Wire Club, Old Red Bus Station), co-founded the Triptych nights, and broke out with the Take it Further EP before collaborations with Capo Lee (AM To PM), Champion & Jamakabi (International Man), Sam Binga and his brother Breaka. Named DJ Mag Breakthrough Artist of 2023, a Warehouse Project resident and the first artist signed to their label, he has played Glastonbury, Boomtown, Outlook, Boiler Room Melbourne and a Phonox residency. His 2025 debut album Tribute on Warehouse Project Records is a love letter to pirate radio and UK sound-system culture, followed by 2026 singles including I Can't Believe I Loved Her (The Rainfall Mix).
