My name is Zaidi Bangz, I am 25 years old and originally from Switzerland. I am an Alternative Rock,Post Punk and Afrobeat musician currently residing in Berlin, Germany. I grew up in a foster family (basically adopted) and they always wanted me to follow my passion so when they heard me singing my lungs out in the basement they brought me all the way to the church choir and from there I never stopped singing. I experimented a lot with music and did rap, house music, afrobeats and then finally found my niche in the post punk and alternative rock world which was about 2 years ago. My writing style is definitely quite different from the usual. I experience music as a healing tool which I can also express myself through. I write from the heart with no to little notes, everything is a freestyle. I can write a song in 1 hour because the melody and flow comes really easy to me. At the same time that means I am lacking in refinement in my lyrics which is something I definitely want to improve and invest more time in. My biggest idol when it comes to music is xxxtentacion. I love how he says the things that are too sad for most people to hear but how he also has this super hype, scream type songs that are a completely different side of him. (we also share the exact same birth date - must be a sign! R.I.P) I love to talk about the real pain in real life because I think there is too little awareness of mental health issues. I don't mind showing vulnerability in my music and that's also why I want to be on a stage. I want to motivate the people who go through something to speak up, ask for help and are not ashamed to share. My goal that I have set for myself for this year is investing more time into my music in general and especially into mix and mastering. I want to connect with more creatives; producers, photographer, videographer etc. and finally release my first music video. Another goal is being able to open a fashion week show with a typical Zaidi rock twist and really put on an epic show for someone like Namilia. I am definitely ready for a bigger stage and can't wait to fully use my potential with more tools accessible to me. And lastly my motivation for music is me being able to do what I love, which will give me the freedom i never had. Being recognised for something that you pour all your heart into is obviously a beautiful thing but most importantly I want to do it for myself and be able to be myself while doing it.
