Waveshaper
Waveshaper is the alias of Swedish electronic producer Tom Andersson (b. 1984), one of the most prolific names in the modern synthwave scene. Active since his 2013 debut Tracks To The Future, he has released nine full-length albums and a dozen EPs / singles via Lunar Boogie, NewRetroWave and self-release, with a sound that blends retrofuturistic synthwave, vaporwave and chillwave through hardware synths like the ARP 2600, Roland Jupiter-4 and Korg MS-20. His latest album, Alternate Reality, dropped on May 1, 2026. Beyond his own discography he is an in-demand composer for video games and film, with credits for Meta, Netflix, Ubisoft, The Game Bakers (Haven, Furi) and Elden Pixels (A Void Hope, Alwa's Awakening), and he was featured alongside Carpenter Brut in the documentary The Rise of the Synths. Influences range from Jean-Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk to Daft Punk and 1980s film soundtracks.
