Walker & Royce
Walker & Royce is the New York City-based house music duo of Sam Walker and Gavin Royce, who have been crafting their signature brand of deep, groove-heavy house since 2011. The pair first met as interns at a music distribution company in New York in 2005 and spent years honing their sound through residencies in Williamsburg before breaking through on Dirtybird Records, the San Francisco imprint helmed by Claude VonStroke. Their releases have appeared on Dirtybird, Relief, Black Book, and Diplo's Higher Ground, earning them consistent Beatport chart positions and DJ support from Fisher, Chris Lake, and John Summit. Their 2017 debut album Self Help and its follow-up established them as cornerstone artists in the American tech house scene, while collaborations with VNSSA produced the cross-genre hit 'Word.' In 2025 and 2026 they have remained prolific, releasing multiple singles including 'My Own Thang,' 'Activate,' 'Death By Love,' and 'Double Dutch,' and they operate their own label imprint Rules Don't Apply as a platform for supporting artists in the underground community.
