VNSSA is the stage name of Vanessa Barnes, a Los Angeles-based DJ and producer originally from Newport Beach, California, whose raw blend of house, techno, and punk-influenced attitude has made her one of the most distinctive voices in American underground dance music. She began as a drummer in indie and rock bands before discovering DJing and self-teaching production on Ableton starting in 2016.
