Villager is the electronic music project of DMV-based producer Alex Young, blending UK garage, breakbeat and richly textured electronica inspired by Four Tet, Jon Hopkins and the UK club canon. After touring as a teenage DJ with Skrillex, Diplo and Cashmere Cat, Young stepped back to reinvent his sound — releasing on Boys Noize Records, Chloe Robinson's Pretty Weird and his own Vesselboy imprint. His Sculptor EP hit #1 on Beatport's Bass/Club chart, while the sprawling Nowhere FM instrumental series (2023–2025) spans 50+ tracks across styles. He has production and writing credits on Halsey's double-platinum album Manic, co-signs from Flying Lotus and A-Trak, and 2025–2026 singles including OUTTA MY CONTROL, OLD FRIEND and VILLAGER RUN THAT AGAIN. Featured in The Guardian (Dec 2025), Future Music and BBC's Maryanne Hobbs, he supports Sammy Virji and Barry Can't Swim on tour while pushing hardware-based club music built for close listening.
