Thandi Draai is a South African music producer, songwriter, vocalist and DJ who has been a flag bearer for Afro house and Afro tech for over a decade. She made history as the first woman of colour in South Africa to release a fully self-produced EP, and is recognised as one of the few women in the genre actively producing and performing her own music. In 2024 she curated and released the 'Africa Get Physical' compilation on Germany's Get Physical, spotlighting African talent and the continent's influence on electronic music. Her sound has earned support from artists including Black Coffee, Adam Port, Shimza, Zakes Bantwini, Blond:ish and Anané Vega, and she has performed at Boiler Room Johannesburg, Defected x Sondela, Kunye and Descendants. Mixmag named her one of the women shaping African dance and electronic music. With around 59,000 monthly Spotify listeners and a steady run of 2026 singles such as 'Ubuntu', she continues to push Afro tech onto international dancefloors.
