Taylor Deupree is an American electronic musician, photographer, graphic designer and mastering engineer based in rural New York, north of the city. He is the founder of the influential 12k record label (est. 1997), which specialises in ambient, experimental and quiet electro-acoustic music. He runs 12k Mastering, a boutique mastering service focused on ambient, experimental, electronic, modern folk and other serious new music, and has mastered hundreds of releases for the experimental community. As an artist he has a deep, prolific catalogue and is known for collaborations with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Marcus Fischer, Stephan Mathieu, Savvas Ysatis and Christopher Willits, with new music in 2026. His sound is built from layered synthesis, modular systems, tape and field recordings into warm, organic minimalism.
