Swiss Portrait is the DIY dream-pop project of Scottish multi-instrumentalist Michael Kay Terence, who writes, records, mixes, and produces every release from his bedroom studio in Glasgow. Born during lockdown solitude, the project blends jangle-pop, lo-fi indie, and bedroom-pop textures into immersive songs built for late-night drives and quiet reflection. Core live collaborators James Killin (bass), Rohan Bumbra (drums), and Paul Leslie (guitar) help translate the recordings to stage. Since debuting in 2020, Swiss Portrait has sold out cassette runs via Z Tapes, earned BBC Introducing and BBC Scotland support, and grown to nearly 83,000 monthly Spotify listeners. The third album Someday arrived in 2024, and 2026 has been prolific with singles Next To You (February), All Night (April), and Sleep Easy (June 11). Clash Magazine has praised the project's "explosive, ecstatic, melodic and immersive" live potential.
