Slowe is the project of Sophie Hawes, a Bristol-based self-taught producer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who makes soul-warming, home-cooked music blending neo-soul-influenced production with introspective songwriting. Her sound fuses the classic songwriting of influences like Laura Marling and Jeff Buckley with the soul and jazz-inflected production of Erykah Badu and J Dilla. Her self-produced debut album 'Where The Mind Wanders' (2023) drew support from Gilles Peterson, Don Letts (BBC 6 Music) and Robert Elms (BBC Radio London). She released her second album 'In Moments' in May 2026 via Brighton label Tru-Thoughts, capturing fragments of late-twenties life. Across roughly a dozen releases she has built a reputation for a meticulous ear and a warm, lo-fi soul aesthetic. With around 28,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Slowe is a rising voice in the UK soul and jazz scene.
