Bio

SHIMA is a Japanese-American electronic artist, producer, singer, and engineer based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Tokyo, she started at 14 as a J-pop singer in a major-label girl group before moving to the US to study Music & Computer Engineering at the University of Miami, where she sharpened her skills as a producer and engineer. She writes, produces, mixes, and masters her own music, weaving Japanese folklore and bilingual English/Japanese lyrics into electronica that moves between indie, trap, house, and techno. Signed to TOKiMONSTA's Young Art Records, she released her debut album Welcome To SHIMAJIMA in 2025 after standout sets at Coachella's DoLaB, Electric Forest, and Miami Music Week. Her June 2026 single HYPNOTIZED (Trippy Bee Records) keeps a steady release cadence alongside remix packages of album cuts. She also shares production tips on social media, framing herself as a hands-on producer as much as a festival-ready live act.
