PRODUCER · KEYBOARDIST · COMPOSER · SONGWRITER

Sara Wakui is a Tokyo-based composer, keyboardist, and producer — a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts (musicology) who started classical piano at three and composition at nine. She launched her solo project in 2022, building a jazz-meets-beats sound that has earned Spotify editorial support on Chillhop, Modern Jazz Japan, New Music Wednesday, and Soul Music Japan. Her 2025–2026 run includes a dense single campaign — “FAR” (July 1, 2026), “言わせばない” (July 8), and “HiFi Vague” (July 22) — ahead of her fourth album Nothing But Living (August 19, 2026). Beyond her own catalog she works widely as a session and support musician, including Ado’s world tour and National Stadium dates and Tempalay’s Nippon Budokan show, plus commercial composition and artist arrangements. Stereofox has called her one of Japan’s most exciting emerging jazz producers, and her live sets are known for aggressive, high-energy band performances.
