Pugilist is the alias of Scottish/Kiwi producer and DJ Alex Dickson, based in Melbourne, Australia. He makes a wide variety of underground electronic music rooted in jungle, breakbeat, dub techno and drumstep, combining nostalgia with forward-thinking production. He has released on respected labels including Modern Hypnosis, Samurai Music, 3024, Shall Not Fade and the Banoffee Pies Beats series, and recently launched his own imprint, Ruff Kutz. As a DJ he's known for well-curated, versatile sets packed with unreleased dubs. With releases as recent as 2026 and frequent collaborations (notably with Tamen), Pugilist remains one of the most prolific voices in Melbourne's underground bass scene.
