Psalm Trees
Psalm Trees is a London-based producer who carved his path in the lo-fi scene from a bedroom on the outskirts of the city, sampling vinyl for fun and blending elements of electronic, jazz, hip hop and chillwave. Despite calling himself a technical novice, his intuitive ear and taste-making sensibility have redefined the lo-fi space, evolving from sample-flips to sourcing original material on vinyl-hunting trips through São Paulo. In November 2024 he released two parallel albums on Chillhop Music: 'Spirit of Naima', a 40-minute jazz record made with Rotterdam pianist ALEXANDER and a full team of classically trained musicians, and 'From Scratch', an album of jazzy instrumental beats built entirely from samples of that record. Stereofox described his sound as 'silky, chillhop-driven lullabies, often blended with gentle piano melodies — the kind of music one might consider an emotional blanket'. He is a long-running collaborator with French producer Guillaume Muschalle, with whom he released the 'We Must Believe in Spring' LP in 2021. Across ten studio albums and dozens of singles his catalog has accumulated tens of millions of streams and frequent placements on the Chillhop Essentials compilations.
