Introduced to Aphex Twin at age nine, he grew up absorbing drumming, turntablism and composition; an eye-opening trip to Guinea, West Africa, where he studied polyrhythmic percussion, gave the project its name and its restless, sample-driven identity. Across a quartet of acclaimed albums he weaves intricate chamber-pop arrangements, post-techno electronic textures, field recordings and a love of Black Atlantic polyrhythms into something distinctly his own. His machine-built yet organic sound has found homes on highly regarded labels including Astro Nautico, Ninja Tune, Mexican Summer, International Anthem and Infinite Machine. Recent work includes the albums 'Windswept' (2024) and 'Windswept: Expansions' (2025) and the 2026 single 'Always Cosmic.' ## Has worked with [Explore all credits](https://obra.art/photay#artistas) 18M Total plays & views Projects20 Since2021 Verified streams · verified today 17,957,102 +10 K a day · +304 K a month, on average 20 projects · 11 artists · since 2021 spotify 100 % 17,957,102 89 days · Total ## Records [80K has passed 80,000 streams Always Open (Falle's Roots) - Photay Remix United Freedom Collective, Photay 18 days ago](https://obra.art/photay/always-open-falles-roots-photay-remix-2) [80K has passed 80,000 streams Always Open (Falle's Roots) - Photay Remix United Freedom Collective, Photay 18 days ago](https://obra.art/photay/always-open-falles-roots-photay-remix-3) [10K has passed 10,000 streams Always Open (Falle's Roots) - Photay Instrumental Edit United Freedom Collective, Photay 24 days ago](https://obra.art/photay/always-open-falles-roots-photay-instrumental-edit) [100K has passed 100,000 streams Always Cosmic United Freedom Collective, Photay 28 days ago](https://obra.art/photay/always-cosmic-2) Most played ## Most played [01 Derecho Photay 1.328.489 1,3 M](https://obra.art/photay/derecho-3) [02 Derecho Photay 1.328.489 1,3 M](https://obra.art/photay/derecho) [03 Derecho Photay 1.328.489 1,3 M](https://obra.art/photay/derecho-2) [04 Derecho Photay 1.328.489 1,3 M](https://obra.art/photay/derecho-4) [05 Derecho Photay 1.328.489 1,3 M](https://obra.art/photay/derecho-5) [06 All That I Need - Photay Remix Conclave, Toribio, Photay 1.012.391 1,0 M](https://obra.art/photay/all-that-i-need-photay-remix-2) [07 Dream Madison McFerrin, Photay 995.092 995 K](https://obra.art/photay/dream) [08 How May I Help You?
