Paperwater is an avant-garde electronic production duo from Miami, Florida, composed of Daygee Kwia and Eddy Samy. Channeling the duo's Haitian and Liberian heritage, they pioneer a sound they call Afro Tech — a fusion of Afro house, electronic, hip-hop and indie influences they also frame as B.E.M. (Black Electronic Music). With over 200 million streams and a catalog spanning albums like B.E.M., Bem Vol. 1.5 and Sounds of Miami (S.O.M.) Vol. 1, they have built one of the most distinctive voices in Miami's underground dance scene. Beyond music, they run Half/Full Creative, a boutique production and events company, and have collaborated with figures and brands including Virgil Abloh, Apple and Billionaire Boys Club. Their work has been spotlighted by the Peréz Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and Faena Art's inaugural residency for Black Miami creatives. They remain highly active, with recent 2026 singles including "Close 2 U."
