obli is the solo project of Chris Null, a multi-instrumentalist and producer originally from Newark, Ohio and now based in Los Angeles. Before going solo he spent seven years playing bass in the LA rock band Dead Sara, touring extensively before stepping away in 2017 to focus on his own music. An early friendship with Sonny Moore (Skrillex) pulled him toward electronic production, and he has since channeled over 15 years of stage and studio experience into a sound built on sample-driven electronica, warm textures and emotive songwriting. obli is signed to ODESZA's Foreign Family Collective, with releases also landing on Anjunadeep. His debut album 'Soft Speak' arrived on May 28, 2026, following singles like 'Sun Sun Sun,' 'He Dreams of Friends' and 'Victoria.' Drawing on influences such as Caribou, Bonobo, Shlohmo and Jamie xx, his music blends house, funk and ambient textures into something cinematic and personal.
