Neon Nox is a Swedish synthwave producer whose modern take on a classic 1980s sound has made him a fixture of the genre. He started out as a house DJ playing across Sweden and Europe before transitioning from Nu-Disco into a more authentically retro vibe that became his signature synthwave style. His production draws from '80s films, TV shows, video games and the cyberpunk aesthetic of Blade Runner, built around favorite studio hardware like the Novation Bass Station 2 and the Oberheim OB-6. The Neon Nox persona is a cinematic alter ego — Jon 'Neon' Nox, a fictional vigilante driver chasing his family's killer through the neon streets of Miami at night, an ongoing narrative threaded through every release. He's put out the studio albums Syndicate Shadow (2018), Last Stand (2020) and Payback (2022) via NewRetroWave Records, alongside EPs and singles including 'Vanishing Point', 'Unfinished Business', 'Beyond Earth' and 'Fahrenheit'. He continues releasing steadily on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music and SoundCloud — most recently the singles 'Into the Storm' (December 2025) and 'F1' (February 2026).
