Narasimha

PRODUCER · DJ · SONGWRITER

Narasimha is the artist project of producer and DJ Nivedan Nayak, a New York–based musician who crafts groove-driven house by fusing West African, Latin American, and Indian rhythmic traditions with modern club production. After a year-long musical nomad journey studying traditional drums and dance in Guinea, Gambia, and Senegal — recording percussion on the ground in Conakry — he returned with a run of releases that caught fire online: teaser videos went viral, Chris Lake shared his story on stream, and "Wakili" (meaning "courage") landed on Black Book Records in January 2026. "Fanga" followed on Bonobo's OUTLIER imprint via Ninja Tune, a drum-heavy tech house cut named after the Bambara word for "power." Earlier singles including "Baako" (HUGEL's Make The Girls Dance), "A Gira," "Dhol Tool," and "El Tigre" built a catalog rooted in live percussion and dance-floor energy, earning support from Bonobo, Melé, Francis Mercier, and DJ Habibeats. A drummer and dancer at heart, Narasimha tests every groove on the floor before release — bridging ancestral rhythm and global house with a rising, earned momentum.
