Classically trained as a violinist, he fuses IDM, techno and electronic textures with indigenous Andean folklore, Pacific ancestral rhythms and the tropical cumbia of Colombia's Caribbean coast — a sound at the heart of the electrocumbia and Latin American electronica movement championed by ZZK Records. He studied at Fabrica in Treviso and builds his tracks like recipes, layering field-recorded indigenous voices, acoustic instruments and modern production into cinematic, dancefloor-ready compositions. His catalogue spans the albums Iwa Deluxe (2016), Otun (2019, co-produced with Richard Blair of Sidestepper), El Nido (2023) and the brand-new Tayta (June 2026), alongside a steady run of singles and remixes. With roughly 103,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and releases on ZZK Records and White Forest Records, Montoya is an active, internationally touring mid-tier producer. ## Has worked with [Explore all credits](https://obra.art/montoya#artistas) 45.5M Total plays & views Projects18 Since2015 Verified streams · verified today 45,549,315 +10 K a day · +301 K a month, on average 18 projects · 9 artists · since 2015 spotify 100 % 45,549,315 87 days · Total ## Records [1.3M has passed 1,250,000 streams Perla Montoya 50 days ago](https://obra.art/montoya/perla) [1.3M has passed 1,250,000 streams Perla Montoya 50 days ago](https://obra.art/montoya/perla-2) [700K has passed 700,000 streams Pasillo Montoya 64 days ago](https://obra.art/montoya/pasillo) [900K has passed 900,000 streams Nubecita Montoya 73 days ago](https://obra.art/montoya/nubecita-2) Most played ## Most played [01 Solo Quiero (feat.
