Mitch Murder is the stage name of Johan Bengtsson, a Swedish synthwave producer and composer from Stockholm and one of the artists who popularized the genre. His early EPs (After Hours, Current Events, Burning Chrome) on Rosso Corsa Records helped define retro synth, drawing on 80s pop, Jan Hammer, Paul Hardcastle and Vince DiCola. In 2013 director David Sandberg tapped him to compose the majority of the music for the viral short film Kung Fury; he co-wrote its theme True Survivor (performed by David Hasselhoff) with Jorgen Elofsson. Beyond his own albums, he is a sought-after composer for film, games and other artists, with a deep, steadily updated catalog.
