merchant is a Jamaican-born producer, songwriter, and DJ shaped by a life split between Jamaica, Europe, and the United States, now based in Nashville. His sound fuses Afro House, Afro Tech, and Caribbean rhythms with syncopated percussion, clear toplines, and a polished club finish. Viral edits of Damian Marley's "Welcome to Jamrock" and John Summit's "Where You Are" earned support from Pete Tong, BLOND:ISH, Diplo, and Francis Mercier. Original releases in 2025–2026 — including "Azizam" (5M+ streams), "Down Di Road," "Tu Ta Le" with Hoax and Idd Aziz, and "GYAL" (featured on Black Coffee's Track IDs) — cemented him as a leading voice in Afro-Caribbean house. He has shared stages with Diplo, Themba, Nitefreak, and &Friends, and is signed to Helix Records while pushing a more narrative, globally rooted take on dancefloor music.
