Bio

Mauricesax is the artist project of Moritz Schuster, a composer, producer, and saxophonist based in Cologne, Germany. He blends jazz, electronica, beats, and funk — often playing live saxophone on his own productions — moving between jazztronica, neo-soul, and future jazz. Schuster studied Audio and Video Engineering at the Robert-Schumann Conservatory and the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, with semesters abroad at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona and USC in Los Angeles. His 2026 album Be Water on Urban Waves Records features collaborators including Bao, Gianluca Pellerito, Telemakus, and Lytmus, with several tracks recorded live at Labrutepoque in Milan. He releases prolifically — singles like "verdigris," "Mint Chocolate," and "Feeling The Pressure" have landed on Spotify editorial playlists including Jazztronica, Jazzy Beats, and State of Jazz.
