Bio

Marcus D is a hip hop producer from Seattle based in Tokyo, where he runs his label Absolutzero and the boutique sample imprint Omega Music Library. Known for jazz-rap and lo-fi beats rooted in crate-digging and analog warmth, he is frequently linked to the Japanese jazz-hop lineage associated with Nujabes. His catalog spans albums and instrumentals with guests and collaborators including Del the Funky Homosapien, Royce Da 5'9", Shing02, Substantial, Cise Star, Blu, Curren$y, Statik Selektah, and Emancipator. He is one half of the jazzhop duo Bop Alloy with Substantial and won Seattle’s Red Bull Big Tune beat battle in 2009. In 2012, Melancholy Hopeful (Hydeout/Tribe) brought wider international attention; recent 2026 releases include Masters of the Artistry, Gravitas, and Dark Matter. Beyond artist albums he builds clearance-friendly sample libraries for other producers, keeping a steady release cadence across Spotify, Bandcamp, and his own stores.
