Khalil Lucas, professionally known as KRL, is an Orlando-based artist, producer, songwriter, and mixing engineer working at the intersection of Christian hip-hop and R&B. He began writing music at eight years old, shaped by his grandmother (a touring house singer), his father (a hip-hop artist), and early exposure to studio culture. By high school he was making beats on piano and writing in lunchroom cyphers, drawing inspiration from Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, André 3000, Jay-Z, Tupac, and Biggie. His music centers on faith, perseverance, and honest self-examination—grounded and intentional rather than trend-chasing. As both a recording artist and engineer, he holds Spotify editorial placements and offers professional mixing and mastering through SoundBetter.
