konb is a Japanese trumpeter, producer and beatmaker who layers his own horn over dub, lo-fi hip-hop and jazz-beats instrumentals. He taught himself trumpet in college and spent years in bands and sessions before moving into beatmaking in 2019, drawing on MUTE BEAT, Miles Davis and experimental dub from his time in the band GROUNDCOVER. His debut album Light and Shade arrived on Japanolofi Records in 2022, followed by a prolific run of singles and collaborations with beatmakers worldwide — including the June 2026 Stereofox-featured Uneri (畝り) with French producer Easy Deviance. His playing style is speculative and floating, specializing in trumpet-led jazz-hop and ambient "ambeat" textures. A steady 2026 release schedule — Danube Sky, Nocturne and Sketches from Hakone — keeps him active across Bandcamp, Spotify editorial playlists and the Japanolofi scene.
