COMPOSER · PRODUCER · PIANIST · SOUND DESIGNER

Kelly Moran (born February 17, 1988) is an American composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Brooklyn, New York, originally from Long Island. A Yamaha Artist since 2018, she has spent her career excavating the sonic possibilities of the piano — combining prepared piano techniques pioneered by John Cage with electronic production, synthesis, and extended improvisation. She is deeply embedded in the producer-for-others world: she has collaborated with FKA twigs, Yves Tumor, Kelsey Lu, and Oneohtrix Point Never, placing her at the nexus of the contemporary avant-garde, art pop, and modern classical scenes. Her solo discography spans Optimist (2016), Bloodroot (2017), and the celebrated Ultraviolet (2018) on Warp Records, followed by Vesela EP (2023) and Moves in the Field (2024). Her 2025 album Don't Trust Mirrors continues to expand her singular approach — alien and sharp, built on the Disklavier player piano. She has performed at Lincoln Center and is booked by Heavy Trip (North America) and Swamp Booking (EU).
