Kasmario Thulani Ike Fankis, known as Kasango, is a South African DJ and record producer from Welkom, Free State, and one of the leading names in the global Afro House movement. He studied Advanced Music Production at the Soul Candi Institute of Music and drew early inspiration from Black Coffee and DJ Kent. He rose to prominence with the 2021 number-one single "Osama" (with Grammy winner Zakes Bantwini), which charted for 12 consecutive weeks and earned BBC Radio 1 Essential New Tune support from Pete Tong. His catalogue is almost entirely collaborative (31 of 32 releases with other artists, including Shimza, Hyenah, Joezi, Maesic and AR/CO) and he has performed on every continent, making him a textbook producer-for-others in afro house and afro tech.
