A jazz-rooted musician and obsessive music aficionado, he makes funky, organic dance music that blends New York house, Italo disco, nu-disco, lo-fi and jazz-funk — full of live keyboard and synth solos, percussion and bass. His acclaimed 'Italomania' series and the 2025 album 'Para Mytho Disco' fuse red-hot Italo passion with 90s electronica and club versions, while his ongoing 'Mushroom House' and 'Wildstyle House' compilations have helped define the Toy Tonics sound worldwide. Beyond his own records he is the curator and A&R steering one of independent dance music's most distinctive labels, with a deep catalogue of 50+ releases and a relentless 2026 run of singles and remixes. ## Has worked with [Explore all credits](https://obra.art/kapote#artistas) 1.8M Total plays & views Projects20 Since2025 Verified streams · verified today 1,778,586 +1 K a day · +32 K a month, on average 20 projects · 15 artists · since 2025 spotify 100 % 1,778,586 85 days · Total ## Records [200K has passed 200,000 streams Answer Cody Currie, Kapote 27 days ago](https://obra.art/kapote/answer) [40K has passed 40,000 streams Mystery - Close Counters Remix Kapote, Close Counters 42 days ago](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-close-counters-remix) [10K has passed 10,000 streams Mystery - Opolopo Remix Kapote, Opolopo 42 days ago](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-opolopo-remix) [10K has passed 10,000 streams Mystery - Opolopo Remix Kapote 42 days ago](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-opolopo-remix-2) Most played ## Most played [01 Mystery Kapote 217.001 217 K](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery) [02 Answer Cody Currie, Kapote 205.848 206 K](https://obra.art/kapote/answer) [03 I Want You Cody Currie, Kapote 163.094 163 K](https://obra.art/kapote/i-want-you) [04 Hard Work Cody Currie, Kapote 96.348 96 K](https://obra.art/kapote/hard-work) [05 Dance Dance Dance Cody Currie, Kapote 89.114 89 K](https://obra.art/kapote/dance-dance-dance) [06 La Musica - Azari & III Remix Munk, Kapote 77.735 78 K](https://obra.art/kapote/la-musica-azari-and-iii-remix) [07 Berlin Boogie Town - Boombass from Cassius Remix Kapote 55.947 56 K](https://obra.art/kapote/berlin-boogie-town-boombass-from-cassius-remix) [08 Berlin Boogie Town - Boombass from Cassius Remix Kapote, Cassius, Boombass 55.947 56 K](https://obra.art/kapote/berlin-boogie-town-boombass-from-cassius-remix-2) [09 La Musica - Hot Version Munk, Kapote 55.119 55 K](https://obra.art/kapote/la-musica-hot-version) [10 La Musica - Dub Mix Munk, Kapote 55.119 55 K](https://obra.art/kapote/la-musica-dub-mix) Has worked with ## 15 artists. and 1 more Catalog ## 20 releases. 2026 8 [Love Get YaArpy Brown, Kapote · 56 K](https://obra.art/kapote/love-get-ya) [Break The IceArpy Brown, Kapote · 23 K](https://obra.art/kapote/break-the-ice) [The Phunk BizArpy Brown, Kapote · 19 K](https://obra.art/kapote/the-phunk-biz) [Kapote presents Toy Tonics Wildstyle House Vol. 1Kapote · 126 K](https://obra.art/kapote/kapote-presents-toy-tonics-wildstyle-house-vol-1) 126 K [Berlin Boogie Town RemixesKapote · 105 K](https://obra.art/kapote/berlin-boogie-town-remixes) 105 K [Berlin Boogie Town - Fimiani RemixKapote, Fimiani · 21 K](https://obra.art/kapote/berlin-boogie-town-fimiani-remix-2) [The Come On - Earl Jeffers RemixKapote, Earl Jeffers · 9 K](https://obra.art/kapote/the-come-on-earl-jeffers-remix) [Berlin Boogie Town - Dukwa RemixKapote, Dukwa · 19 K](https://obra.art/kapote/berlin-boogie-town-dukwa-remix) 2025 12 [Berlin Boogie Town - Boombass from Cassius RemixKapote, Cassius, Boombass · 56 K](https://obra.art/kapote/berlin-boogie-town-boombass-from-cassius-remix-2) [Kapote presents Italomania - Instrumentals & Club VersionsKapote · 66 K](https://obra.art/kapote/kapote-presents-italomania-instrumentals-and-club-versions) [Drop It LowArpy Brown, Kapote · 39 K](https://obra.art/kapote/drop-it-low-2) [Mystery - Ralph Session RemixKapote, Ralph Session · 3 K](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-ralph-session-remix) [Mystery - Cable Toy RemixKapote, Cable Toy · 5 K](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-cable-toy-remix-2) [Mystery - Daniel Monaco RemixKapote, Daniel Monaco · 2 K](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-daniel-monaco-remix) [Mystery - Opolopo RemixKapote, Opolopo · 10 K](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-opolopo-remix) [Mystery RemixesKapote · 313 K](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-remixes) 313 K [Mystery - Close Counters RemixKapote, Close Counters · 42 K](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-close-counters-remix) [Mystery - Harvey Sutherland RemixKapote, Harvey Sutherland · 34 K](https://obra.art/kapote/mystery-harvey-sutherland-remix-2) [La MusicaMunk, Kapote · 244 K](https://obra.art/kapote/la-musica) 244 K [Hard Work EPCody Currie, Kapote · 586 K](https://obra.art/kapote/hard-work-ep) 586 K Catalog · Notes · Curatorial Bio Kapote is the DJ and producer alias of Mathias Modica, the multi-instrumentalist, keyboard wizard and creative head behind Berlin's Toy Tonics records (and the earlier Gomma label).
