Bio

JWords (Jennifer Hernandez) is a Dominican-American producer, beatmaker and synth builder, raised in Union City, New Jersey and based in Brooklyn, New York. She is the instrumental half of the acclaimed avant-rap duo H31R alongside rapper maassai, and a key figure in New York's experimental hip-hop scene. Her sound fuses instrumental hip-hop, R&B, Jersey club and ambient textures over fast-paced drums, crafted on hardware like Teenage Engineering's OP-XY sequencer. Her 2026 solo album 'Sound Therapy' marks a calmer, more meditative turn in her production, made partly as a therapeutic response to personal struggles. A frequent collaborator with artists such as Nappy Nina, she is also an educator and is developing live-coding visuals for her live shows. With fresh 2026 singles 'Clarity' and 'LUSH' and a deep catalog of solo and collaborative releases, she remains one of the most active and respected producers of her generation.
