John Grand is a rising force in melodic dance music, weaving emotional depth into every track at the intersection of progressive house, trance, and techno. The alias of Los Angeles-based producer John Kunkel — also known as the lead singer and producer of The New Division — it began in 2015 as an outlet for his love of trance and progressive, after Kunkel formed his first band at age 13. His discography spans acclaimed imprints including Enhanced Music, Euphonic, Black Hole Recordings, and FSOE, with tracks like "Don't Let Me Go," "Sapphire," and "Midnight Sun" earning support from Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Cosmic Gate, Markus Schulz, Tritonal, and Ferry Corsten, plus radio play on A State of Trance and Group Therapy. The 2026 album Drift and June 2026 EP Palermo / Hyperstate mark his latest releases in an active catalog of 170+ tracks. Based in Los Angeles, John Grand delivers immersive DJ sets worldwide and also mentors producers through cntrlroom.io.
