Johannes Brecht

Bio

Johannes Brecht is a classically trained German producer, composer and live performer from Stuttgart, who grew up in a musical family playing piano and double bass before discovering jazz and electronic music. He released his first EP in 2013 and went on to become a mainstay of Solomun's Diynamic Music, also releasing on Mule Musiq and Poker Flat Recordings. His 2016 track 'Voix Grave' hit #1 on Beatport's Deep House chart and his music was featured in Grand Theft Auto V. Journalists describe his style — which weaves live string and wind arrangements into electronic productions — as 'Chamber Techno.' He has performed everywhere from underground rooms like Trouw Amsterdam and KaterBlau Berlin to Exit Festival and Tomorrowland, and helmed the 10th edition of Diynamic's flagship 'Picture' mix series. Alongside his club work he produces the 'Imperfect Moments' solo piano series and collaborates in the experimental duo Brecht/Lillinger. He remains highly active in 2026 with the recent '♡☮ EP' and the single 'Enjoy The Void.'
