Bio

J Ribbon is the progressive house and trance alias of London-based DJ, writer and producer Johnny Newman, who first signed to Pete Tong's FFRR Records at just 15. Now in his early twenties, he made his Anjunabeats debut in 2024 with 'My Habitat' as part of the label's Rising EP series, earning cross-genre support from Adriatique, Sam Divine and Don Diablo. His 2025 single 'Lifetime' surpassed 3 million streams across platforms, soundtracked BBC's Match of the Day and UEFA Women's EURO 2025 coverage, and became an organic TikTok hit with over a million views. He has held residencies at Hi Ibiza and [UNVRS] Ibiza supporting Eric Prydz, and played sold-out shows at O2 Academy Brixton opening for Above & Beyond, plus Fabric, Ministry of Sound and A State of Trance Festival London. J Ribbon is also one half of the dance duo Rathbone Place. His latest singles 'Man On Fire' (May 2026) and 'Redemption / Lights On' continue his ongoing run on Anjunabeats.
