Iman Omari
Iman Omari is a 2x Grammy Award-winning producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ from Los Angeles, California, born of a Somalian mother and Jamaican father. Self-taught and a graduate of the Academy of Music and Performing Arts at Hamilton High School, he began as a producer-for-others — working with Kendrick Lamar and OverDoz. before launching a solo career at his friends' urging. He co-founded Vibe Music Group, a multi-disciplinary artist collective and record company, in 2015. His credits include production work for Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, and Mac Miller, and his track 'Omari's Mood' from the 2015 release High-Loops & Higher-Loops was used at the opening of Kendrick Lamar's Grammy Awards performance in February 2016. Omari labels his aesthetic 'vibe music' — deeply influenced by Stevie Wonder and J Dilla — weaving strings, trumpets, and relaxing jazz-funk melodies into soulful R&B. His 2025 single 'surrender' continues his solo output alongside his ongoing production work for other artists.
