Bio

Ikonika is a West London electronic musician, producer, DJ, and vocalist — one of the most vital artists in UK bass music, with a two-decade career rooted in Hyperdub Records and releases on Night Slugs, Planet Mu, and Don't Be Afraid. Debuting in 2008 with the single "Please," they became a leading figure in post-dubstep innovation; albums like Contact, Love, Want, Have (2010), Aerotropolis (2013), and Distractions (2017) blended garage rhythms, video-game synths, and experimental club textures. In 2025 they released SAD on Hyperdub — their first album as lead vocalist and songwriter, weaving amapiano, gqom, and pop into a deeply personal narrative. May 2026 brought CRY-1 on Club Djembe, continuing a streak of forward-facing releases. They also co-run the label Hum + Buzz and have remixed and collaborated with Jessy Lanza, Karen Nyame KG, Ewan McVicar, and more. Whether in the studio or behind the decks, Ikonika's sound remains emotive, future-facing, and proudly London.
