Ian Ewing
Ian Ewing is a self-taught instrumentalist and producer who blends hip hop, electronica, and R&B into ambient, sample-based compositions. Originally from Wisconsin and now based in Laguna Niguel, California, he layers organic chillhop with live drumming and his own instrumentation, inspired by drummers like John Bonham, Ginger Baker, Yussef Dayes, and Benny Greb. His catalog spans more than a decade — over 130 releases on Chillhop Music and his own imprint Ornithology & Friends, with recent live-recorded sessions in Los Angeles and a steady monthly cadence of new singles through 2025-2026. He has collaborated with Flamingosis, Louis Futon, and Anomalie, and his music has been supported by Chillhop Music, SiriusXM, BBC One Extra, Soulection, Complexion's Future Beats Show, and Indie Shuffle. With over 350,000 monthly Spotify listeners and a managed roster home at Podwall Entertainment, Ewing has built one of the most consistent independent chillhop catalogs of his generation.
