Hand Habits is the recording project of Meg Duffy (they/them), a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer known for emotionally expansive indie folk and chamber pop. Originally from upstate New York, Duffy relocated to Los Angeles in 2015 and built a reputation as one of the city's most in-demand session and collaborative musicians, playing guitar and co-producing for Perfume Genius, Kevin Morby, Weyes Blood, Angel Olsen, SASAMI, Sylvan Esso, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Christian Lee Hutson, among others. As Hand Habits they have released six studio albums via Saddle Creek and Fat Possum, including the critically acclaimed Blue Reminder (2025) — recorded at Sound City in Los Angeles alongside Blake Mills and Tim Carr — and the 2026 LP Your Lemon. Their top track 'Under The Water' has over 6.7 million Spotify streams. Duffy is a current member of Perfume Genius's live band and was featured on Perfume Genius's 2025 album Glory, produced by Blake Mills. Known for nuanced, guitar-first production and deeply personal songwriting, Hand Habits represents the best of LA's indie producer-artist ecosystem.
