Halfpastseven is the project of Joshua Lutz, a producer, beatmaker, and jazz pianist based in Amsterdam (born Frankfurt, Germany). He fuses hip-hop, house, and experimental beatmaking into a genre-bending sound shaped by influences from Kiefer, Madlib, Nala Sinephro, and the LA beat scene. His studied jazz background surfaces in carefully picked chord progressions, organic sampling, and captivating melodies across lo-fi instrumentals and progressive beats. He released two vinyl albums on Oiyo Records — Music To Walk Home To (2024) and The Calm and The Storm (May 2025) — and performs immersive solo live sets, including ESNS Festival 2026. With 50+ releases and steady singles through 2026 (That One Drawer EP, March 2026), he maintains one of the most active catalogs in the European lo-fi and jazz-beats space.
