Guedra Guedra
Guedra Guedra is the DJ and producer alias of Moroccan sound artist Abdellah M. Hassak, based in Casablanca. He describes his work as "Future Music from the Past" — tribal polyrhythms and underground dancefloor innovations built from field recordings gathered across Morocco, West Africa, and beyond, fused with footwork, tribal house, bass, techno, and dub. His debut album Vexillology (2021) earned praise from The Guardian, Resident Advisor, and Mixmag; he later signed to Domino's Smugglers Way imprint, where 2025's MUTANT was hailed by the New York Times and OkayAfrica as one of the year's most forward-thinking dancefloor records. In May 2026 he released an Animal Collective remix of lead single "Drift of Drummer," ahead of a summer touring run including Primavera Sound. A vinyl collector and sound explorer rooted in Afrofuturism and Pan-African polyrhythm, Guedra Guedra bridges ancestral percussion with contemporary club production.
